Holiday Spending Commences

How holiday spending will impact the coin market in the last month of the year is yet to be determined, however, many dealers are reporting that there are still plenty of buyers for very specific coins. In this week's LD Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide a majority of the adjustments are higher rather than lower. This is especially the case for Copper coins. Indian and Lincoln Cents are always good sellers and the holidays are a good time to add to collections. Buyers have been focusing on nice Brown or Red & Brown coins that appear to be reasonable compared to higher priced Red coins. Collectors look for coins that have some Red that adds flash to the eye appeal. The following Indian Cents advanced this week. The 1873 Brown is up to $290 Market in MS63, the 1880 RB in MS64 is $200, and the 1883 RB in MS65 is now $340.

The Lincoln Cents chart has numerous increases with the 1914 D RB in MS64 leading the way at $4,675. The list below shows a few of the other dates on the rise.

1909 S MS65 RB - $585
1915 S MS64 RB - $1,050
1916 S MS66 BN - $825
1920 D MS64 RB - $240
1920 S MS65 RB - $1,725
1925 S MS64 RB - $750

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
