Heritage Auction Heats up Philly

This will be a busy week in Philadelphia as the ANA gets underway. Thousands of dealers and collectors have already arrived to attend the Pre ANA and bid in the Heritage Auction. The way the market has looked lately dealers expect lots of action. Better date and rare date coins are on most want lists and include most series. Anything from 1793 to 1900 is a likely target of collectors and therefore dealers. Refining the search a little more, many buyers are looking for coins that have low original mintages and low populations for the date and grade. Add to this positive eye appeal and you have a coin that is likely to attract many serious buyers.

Last week's Heritage Sale attracted some very competitive bidding. A 1793 Chain Cent with Periods brought $211,500; this was a PCGS AU58 certified coin and it also had a CAC sticker. An 1801 Bust Dime in NGC MS62 realized $32,900. The following list includes many of the highlights of this important sale.
