Trading Brisk Despite Lower Metals
The recent Heritage Auction at the Houston Money Show produced some very strong bids for rare coins by date, grade, or both. A 1909 S VDB Lincoln Cent in PCGS MS66+ with the CAC sticker sold for $44,063. Below is a list of other highlights from this last sale of the year for Heritage.

In this week's LD Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide the overall picture is that of stability. Most values are unchanged but dealers are looking for most dates of Half Cents all the way through Seated Quarters. They are primarily looking for better dates in all series but if the coin has good eye appeal, dealers are buying. The 1802 Large Cent in AU53 is higher at $1,750 Market and the 1810 10 over 09 is up also, now at $6,350 in AU58.
The last week has seen a drop in the metals but that has not discouraged buyers. There is still a tremendous amount of trading on the teletypes for all bullion coins. After reaching the recent high of $75 wholesale for one ounce Proof Silver Eagles, they have retreated to $71 this morning. While the Proof Gold Eagles in the original government package have fallen from $1,885 last week to $1,867 currently, they are still heavily traded. The one-tenth ounce Proof Gold Eagles are trading at a higher premium now at $190.
