January 28, 2013

Stack's Bowers Galleries now holds the record for the sale of the most valuable coin in the world. Last week's sale of the Cardinal Collection highlighted the famous 1794 Flowing Hair Dollar. This fabulous coin is the finest known and was certified by PCGS as SP66. The price realized was $10,016,875. The previous record was held by the 1933 $20 Saint Gaudens, which sold for just over $7.5 million in 2002. For a complete set of prices realized, please contact Stack's Bowers Galleries.
