With the metals getting stronger over the last few weeks, more and more dealers are concentrating on modern bullion coins. This is good news for the United States Mint, with an increasing number of sales for Silver and Gold Eagles to an expanding dealer and investor base who are confident that bullion levels will continue to rise. Gold is up to $1,267 an ounce and Silver is now at $15.62. One ounce Proof Gold Eagles in the OGP are trading at $1,542, while the one ounce Proof Silver Eagles are up to $49.25 each. Bags of 90% Silver coins are selling at $12,900 and circulated Silver Dollars in VG and higher are now at $23,625 per bag of 1,000.

The adjustments are minimal in this week’s Moderns Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide as most of the common coins remained unchanged. However, we continue to find higher prices for specific MS70 and PR70 Silver and Gold Eagles. These low population coins are a major draw to collectors looking for the finest in today’s minted coins. The 1989 $25 and $50 Gold in MS70 are both higher at $7,250 and $15,000 Market, respectively. Also moving higher is the 1990 $10 Gold in MS70, now at $19,250 Market. Check out the other advances in the Modern Eagles chart.
