Long Beach Week Begins

June 5, 2017

     Heritage Auctions will host their usual Signature Sale at the Long Beach Expo this week with a variety of rarities to entice the collector. Included is the always popular 1893 S Morgan Dollar in PCGS MS61, and for the specialty collector there is a 1652 Pine Tree Shilling Large Planchet in PCGS MS65 with the CAC sticker. Below are some other potential highlights from this sale.

     This week there are numerous advances in Early Bust Half Dollars; demand is high for problem free coins. The 1796 Bust Half 15 Stars in AU55 is higher at $157,500 and the 1796 16 Stars, also in AU55, is up to $180,000. Collectors with the bucks continue to be a force in this area of the market. The 1806 in MS64 has advanced, now at $26,250.

     Better date early Walkers remain very active. The 1919 S in MS64 is up to $29,250; the MS65 is sitting at $120,000 so collectors may be settling on the more reasonably priced MS64. Also, the 1916 in MS66 is higher at $3,925.
