The market slipped considerably for the metals this past week with Gold trading at $1,286.50 as of this morning. The latest Gold Eagle chart is covered with declining prices as Gold fell $25 since the last Moderns issues. Platinum coins, however, have increased in value across the chart as platinum has shot up over $55 in the past several weeks.
There is a long list of declines in the Lincoln Cents chart from 1936 thru 1949 in grades from MS64 to MS66. Most of the declining prices are from dealer discounting, needed because of a lack of new collectors entering this area of the market. The same can be said for Roosevelt Dimes, with numerous minus signs this week in the dates from 1947 thru 1954. Many of the same grades are affected as dealers are searching for new buyers.
