Poulos Family Collection Highlighted in Long Beach Sale
September 9, 2019
Heritage Auctions held the final Long Beach Expo Sale of the year with two diverse rarities capturing high bid honors, selling back-to-back from the Poulos Family Collection, Part II. The 1975 No S Roosevelt Dime in PCGS PR68 is one of just two coins known to exist, the other is a PCGS PR66. Previously selling in auction for $349,600, this sale brought $456,000. The new buyer is now the sixth owner of this coin; the first owner bought it directly from the Mint.

The very next lot from the same collection, the extremely rare 1876 CC Twenty Cent in PCGS MS64 with the CAC sticker sold for $456,000. This date had an original mintage of 10,000 coins but only about 20 are known to exist today. Almost all of the coins were melted because they would be confused with the Seated Quarter due to their similar design and size. This same coin brought $460,000 in the Battle Born Collection in 2012. Below are some of the other highlights of this Heritage Long Beach Sale.
