PCGS Member's Only Show Features Legend Auction

December 2, 2019

The last PCGS Member's Only Show of the year will be held in Las Vegas December 12th; in conjunction, Legend Rare Coin Auctions will conduct their Regency 35 Sale. Potential highlights for this sale are many with a variety of collections being offered. One such highlight will certainly be the 1921 Chapman Dollar, listed as PCGS PR67 and is the finest known. This coin last sold one year ago at just under $230,000. These coins were minted for the Chapman brothers who were coin dealers in Philadelphia and had strong connections at the Mint. These Proofs have more of a mirror surface than the more common Zerbe Proofs.

When the 2019 S American Silver Eagle Enhanced Reverse Proof was first released by the Mint they immediately shot up to $750 wholesale, and since they have climbed even higher to as much as $1,600 each. They have come off the high slightly to the current $1,450, as long as they are in the original sealed box from the Mint. Now that these have gone to the grading services there should soon be some certified coins coming on the market for pricing reports.
