NumisMedia Collector Price Guide
Monthly and Online FMV Prices

NumisMedia is proud to offer a new upgraded format of our Monthly Fair Market Value Price Guide beginning with the October issue. Now we’ve upgraded our Online FMV Price Guide as well. We have increased the grades per page from 5 to 10 and added many cosmetic enhancements for easier price comparisons and to simply save you time. Our online prices are now easier to print with our new no frames version. We hope you enjoy these enhancements.

In order to access grades MS61-MS70 in the Online FMV Price Guide you must be a Collector Subscriber to the NumisMedia Monthly Price Guide. NumisMedia continues to offer free access to FMV prices for all available lower grades (Good - MS60).

The reduced overall size of the new NumisMedia Monthly FMV Price Guide is more compact and easier to carry while maintaining its readability. We have added the MS68 grade to all series and now list Standing Liberty Quarters, including Full Head. We now report the ups and downs of the market with bold for increases and italics for declines based on values from the last issue. Most advertising is now located on the back pages and features full color. The Monthly FMV Price Guide has 36 pages of VF through MS68 listings of the most recent Fair Market Value prices for coins offered by dealers in the numismatic community.

NumisMedia Member Inventory
Including Pre-Auction Inventory

The NumisMedia Member Inventory lists current rare coin inventory (along with a few miscellaneous items) entered by members of NumisMedia's community of national coin dealers.

Many items are listed in the database as Pre-Auction Inventory, available for our Express Auctions ready to be sent to the NumisMedia Online Auctions by YOU.

Look for the green and gold buttons to start an auction and place the first bid. Best of all, these Express Auctions end at your discretion in only 2 Days or 6 Hours after you hit 'Send to Auction' keeping you ahead of the sniping competition. You must be a registered bidder (registering is free) to bid on items within our Online Auctions.

Coins listed as not available for auction are still for sale, although contacting a member dealer about a coin with the Contact Member form does not complete a transaction, but initiates communication between the buyer and the member dealer of NumisMedia.

Mixed Market for Modern Issues

May 12, 2008

Early Proof Lincoln Cents from 1909 to 1916 are extremely difficult to purchase at today’s levels. When these coins are available they bring premiums to previous prices if they are nice for the grade. Even average coins are in demand because of the lack of coins in the marketplace. Registry collectors remain avid buyers for the highest grades; this week’s Wholesale Dealer Price Guide shows the 1914 in PR68 Red advanced to $95,000.
Demand remains consistent for Washington Quarters. However, there appears to be some dates where the number of coins in the market is more than current demand. Therefore, it takes some discounting to sell these issues. In addition, there are some dates that advanced so much in the last two years that it was time for them to back off somewhat. There are numerous declines for many issues from 1932 to the 1960s, mostly in the grades from MS62 to MS66.
Since Gold broke the $1,000 barrier in mid March it has steadily moved downward. It is currently just above the $880 mark. When Gold was moving toward its record high, there were noticeable premiums for most Modern Gold (and Platinum) coins in the highest grades. With the precipitous drop in these metals, the premiums for the most common modern issues have dwindled. Dealers are consistently trading certified modern bullion issues at levels very close to their intrinsic value.

Read all of this week's E-News for website updates, E-News exclusive discounts, What's Hot, What's Not, and more. E-News Weekly is available to Dealer Subscribers and Members only.
